A Time to be Thankful!

As the first post in my new blog, I thought it appropriate to express my thanksgiving for all that the Lord has blessed my life with.

First would be my Dreamgirl. It was 33 years ago last night that Penny and I had our first date. It was as if we had known each other forever. We were so comfortable together, and yes in love at first sight, that I have to say it was the most wonderful date of my life. After that night I could not keep my mind off of her.

It didn't take us very long to realize we were meant for each other. Matter of fact, 9 days from our first date we were engaged. Our life continues to be a courtship full of love and excitement. Thanks Penny, for 33 wonderful years, and the many more to come.

I'm grateful for my deep understanding and conviction I have of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm thankful for a loving Heavenly Father who continues to love me in spite of my many downfalls and weaknesses. I'm thankful for a Savior who died for me that I might live again.

I'm thankful for 5 beautiful children. Each time we get together as a family, I am amazed how perfect (Close to perfect) each of them are. They all have high standards and are shinning examples for me to follow. When I grow up, I want to be just like them.

I'm thankful for the freedoms I enjoy. Even though we have a lot of things wrong with our country, we still have a lot of things right. I can't imagine another country I would even think of living in. America is still great! Let's all do our part to keep it that way.

I'm thankful for my good health. Notice I did not say great. I still have a lot of aches and pains, but I'm grateful that I can still be active with many activities I enjoy doing. (Racquetball, backpacking, bicycling, water skiing, scuba diving, exercising)

I'm grateful for life. Life is great...and I enjoy the many opportunities Penny and I have to enjoy it together.
